Alliance Get Stuck Into Nat-Greens Toxic Sludge

April 9, 2009

The Alliance Party have their knives out over the National-Green Deal – “Alliance Party national spokesperson Victor Billot says that Green claims of standing for social justice had been torpedoed by cosying up to the National Party.”

Victor’s at his best with staments like this – “We now have a bizarre four colour combo running the country – blue for National, yellow for ACT, brown for Maori, and pale Green – add those colours together and what you get is something that looks and smells like toxic political sludge.”

This is an excellent opportunity for the Alliance – they don’t come round too often – it allows them to perhaps appeal to Green voters who feel a little bit betrayed by this behind the scenes deal signed with National. The Alliance vote was almost completely absorbed by Labour and the Greens over the last 5 years, but now that Labour is weak and the Greens and Maroi Party can possibly be branded treasonous the Alliance Party see the possibility of a renewal.

Victor Billot “invites all former supporters of the Green Party and the Maori Party who are disillusioned with their leaderships support towards a National Government to join the Alliance to fight for working people and the environment.”

Strong words, will there be people out there listening?
